Stephen W. Bednar, Victory Hill, Monongahela, died following an extended illness. He was 83.

Mr. Bednar was born in Clearfield County, Aug. 20, 1894, the son of the late John and Mary Bednar.

He was a retired employe of the Donora Zinc Works, U.S. Steel, and was Protestant by faith.

Mr. Bednar is survived by his widow, Lily, one son, George Bednar of Victory Hill, two grandchildren, a brother, Michael of Donora; and five sisters; Ann Andreas of Charleroi, Sue Bednar, Mrs. Katherine Bodnar and Mrs. Margaret Svercek, all of Donora, and Mrs. Helen Yurcick of San Diego, Calif.

He was preceeded in death by two brothers, Andrew and John and two sisters, Mary Bednar and Elizabeth Zdilla.
