Albert Betts Dies - Burial at Loup City -

Albert (Bert) E. Betts died Thursday, February 25, 1960 at the St. Francis Hospital in Grand Island, which he had entered three weeks earlier for treatment. His health had been poor for several months.
Funeral services were held Monday, February 29, at 2:00 p.m. at the Love and Rohde Mortuary in Grand Island, conducted by Rev. Anderson of the Norwegian Lutheran Church of Hazard, Nebraska. Burial was made in the Evergreen Cemetery at Loup City.
Mr. Betts was born January 14, 1878 in New York State. He was married to Miss Linda Larson of Hazard in October 1919 [sic]. They had operated a store at Hazard for many years before coming to Palmer, where they had the IGA store several years. In 1950 they retired from active business, selling the store to Frank Bard and Son.
Mr. Betts is survived by his widow and two nieces who reside in St. Louis. His only child, a son, died in infancy. He leaves many friends in this locality.
