DRAIN — The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 8, at the Smith-Lund-Mills chapel in Cottage Grove for Wallace "Wally" N. Bean of Drain, who died Nov. 28 in an accident. He was 86.
Visitation will be at 10 a.m. at the chapel.
He was born Oct. 1, 1925, in Petaluma, Calif., to Paul and Edna Simmons Bean. He married Virginia Westbrook on Oct. 13, 1945, in Santa Monica, Calif. She died on Dec. 21, 2007.
He completed a four-year sheet metal apprenticeship. He served in the Navy for three years. He worked in sheet metal for Local 16 in Springfield for 35 years.
Survivors include a daughter, Claudia Claverie; two sons, David and Michael; a brother, Robert; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Burial will be at the East Drain Cemetery in Drain. Arrangements by Smith-Lund-Mills Funeral Chapel in Cottage Grove.
