Clarence Smebakken was married to Leona Slater of Melrose, Montana. They were married Sep. 12, 1933 in Butte, Montana. Clarence and Leona never had children as Clarence lost his life in Glacier National Park while helping build the "Going to the Sun Highway". His early death was an accident. Clarence was born in the Seim or Burdick area of Perkins County, South Dakota in 1904.
