Alonzo Frank Meek Jr. was born Jan. 5, 1930, in Houston. Alonzo Franklin Meek Jr. was known as Frank.
Heaven was one breath away and he took it March 13, 1996. He showed and instilled great strength in his family and friends. Frank was born in Harris County, Houston, Texas, on Jan. 5, 1930. He resided in the Fort Worth area until his retirement in 1988. He was employed with Dr Pepper Bottling Co. of Fort Worth from 1948 to 1988. He started as a route salesman, and worked as a warehouse supervisor and then fleet manager. He moved to Birch Tree, Mo., after retiring in 1988 to raise cattle. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and woodcrafts.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Callie Lassiter.
Many were drawn to his strength. He was a good Christian husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He will be missed dearly.
Survivors: Wife of 40 years, Mary Meek of Fort Worth; sons and daughters-in-law, Dwayne and Pam Meek of Birch Tree, Mo., and Dale and Debi Meek and Tommy Meek, all of Fort Worth; daughters and son-in-law, Judy Mathews, Gail Meek, and Sandra and Frank Watts, all of Fort Worth; two sisters, Helen Stewart and Lonnie Compton, both of San Angelo; grandchildren, Franklin Dwayne Meek Jr., Ronnie Meek, Randall Wayne Mathews Jr., Kimberly Watts Lawyer, Joshua Meek Watts, James David Watts, Rachel EmilyMeek and Kyle Andrew Meek; and two great-grandchildren.
