Enna Ruth Mattocks, age 79, of Kirksville, Missouri, pased away Friday October 15, 1999 in the Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville.
Enna Mattocks was born January 17, 1920 in Scotland County, Missouri the daughter of Bert Lloyd and Virah Mae Damon Henry. On July 5, 1937 in Memphis, Missouri she was united in marriage to Weston Wayne Mattocks who preceded her in death on November 3, 1989.
Also preceding her in death were her parents, one grandson, Mark Roberts and two sisters, Sadie Miller and Edith Purvis.
She is survived by three daughters, Brenda Moyers and her husband Gary of Gibbs, Missouri, Judy Roberts and her husband Brice of Quincy, Illinois and Vicki Combs and her husband Donn of Greentop, Missouri; three sisters, Velma Lowe and her husband Hershel of Arvada, Colorado, Edna Graeser of Golden, Colorado and Alberta Schempp of Arvada, Colorado; seven grandchildren, Tina Fitzpatrick and her husband Jim, Gina Smith and her husband Rusty and Ronda Songer all of Kirksville, Lisa Boren of Quincy, Illinois, Papae Combs of Oskaloosa, Iowa, Donnie Combs and Cassie Combs both of Greentop, Missouri; ten great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Eunice Pearce of Edina, Missouri and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mrs. Mattocks attended Scotland County schools and graduated from the Gorin Hih School. She lived most of her life in Knox and Adair counties. She had been employed at the Wells-Lamont Glove Factory in Edina and Hollister, Inc in Kirksville. She and her husband were engaged in farming in the Edina and Memphis areas before moving to Brashear, Missouri in 1967. They continued to farm until their retirement in 1980. In 1990 she moved to Kirksville.
She enjoyed sewing, quilting and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a fifty year member of the Order of Easter Star in Greensburg and a member of the Grensburg Christian Church.
Funeral services were held Sunday October 17, 1999 at 2:00 p.m. in the Hudson-Rimer Park View Chapel, Kirksville, Missouri. Dr. Edward McCurley conducted the services. Burial was in the Greensburg Cemetery.
Casket bearers were Aaron Norfolk, Cody Norfolk, Pete Bangert, Dennis Aaron, Wendall Doss and Albert Zentz.
