William F. Matzdorf, 71, a retired town of Rhine farmer, died at his home Saturday following a three months illness.  Mr. Matzdorf was born in Sheboygan March 25, 1892 a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Christ Matzdorf.  He married Miss Gustie Henning in the town of Herman Dec. 3, 1921.  Following their marriage the couple farmed at Spring Valley for five years and in 1926 took over the Matzdorf homestead farm in the Town of Rhine which they operated until 1953.  Mr. Matzdorf has been employed as a field man for Stokley Van Camp Co., for nine years since his retirement from farming.  He was a member of Zoar United Church of Christ.  
Survivors are his wife; three sons, George of the town of Lima, John of Sheboygan and Williard of Greenbush; two daughters, Mrs. William (Lorraine) Klemme of Plymouth and Mrs. Louis (Lucille ) Brandt of Chilton; 11 grandchildren; a brother Charles of Plymouth and three sisters, Mrs. Anna Allwardt and Mrs. Mary Groene both of Plymouth and Mrs. August Schultz of Sheboygan.  
Funeral services will be held at Wittkopp funeral home,, Plymouth with the Rev. Ernest Gander, pastor of Zoar United Church of Christ officiating.  Burial will be in the Plymouth Woodlawn Cemetery.
