Edith L. Bevenue, 81, of Tulsa passed from this life Wednesday, November 30, 2011 in Tulsa. She was born June 9, 1930 in Lone Star the daughter of Sim and Augusta (Noe) Brandon. Edith graduated Coalgate High School in 1948 and moved to Tulsa. She was a member of the Carbondale Church of Christ and enjoyed visiting the residents of Sherwood Manor Nursing Home, gardening, and spending time with her family. Edith was preceded in death by her parents; former husband and father of her children, Buzz Jackson Bevenue; brothers, Bruce, Buford and Buel Brandon; sisters, Bernice Brandon, Helen Hayworth and an infant sister; sisters-in-law, Hazel Hopgood Brandon and Hazel Perry Brandon; and brothers-in-law, Bill Hayworth and John Hicks. Visitation is scheduled for 1-4 pm on Sunday, December 4, 2011 at the Heath-Griffith Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 10 am, Monday, December 5, 2011 at the Carbondale Church of Christ. Judge Morris will officiate. A graveside committal service will be 3 pm, Monday, December 5, 2011 at the Coalgate Cemetery in Coalgate. Arrangements are under the direction of Heath-Griffith Funeral Home.
