Another revered father of Maxatawny went to his eternal reward after attaining the high life mark of the Scriptures—four score years and ten. Henry Schmick, Sr. residing in Brooklyn, below this town, died Thursday night, between 9 and 10 o’clock in the 91st year of his age. He had become a nonagenarian beginning of May. He died of the infirmities and debility incident to old age. He was bed fast only one week and the end came on calmly and peacefully.

Deceased was a prosperous and model farmer and in his active years successfully tilled his farm between this town and Eagle Point, on which he was born, raised and spent his life until the last few years which he lived in retirement at Brooklyn. He survived his entire family save two grandchildren by many years.
His wife Annie, nee Hager, died about fifteen years ago, and his only son and child, William, preceded him in death ten years.

The surviving grandchildren are Henry Schmeck, Jr., employed at the stockyards in Chicago, and Annie, at home. The deceased was a consistent member of St. John’s Reformed congregation, and filled church offices repeatedly and creditably. The funeral will take place next Wednesday fore noon at 9 o’clock. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Interment will be made in Hope cemetery and services in St. John’s Church, Rev. E. F. H. Leinbach officiating. Undertaker Charles Fritz of Weisenburg, has charge of the remains.
