Richard J. McCann, 87, of Rice Lake died there Nov. 16 at Heritage Manor Nursing Home. Graveside services are in the spring at Guardian Angel Cemetery in Stevens Point.

Mr. McCann was born April 17, 1916 to Myron and Emma (Busky) McCann in Ashland, where he grew up and received part of his education. He and his parents then moved to Marshfield, where he finished his education. As a young man, Mr. McCann was a switchman for the railroad in Stevens Point, where he met Dorothy Mansavage. They were married June 21, 1941. Mr. McCann then was a salesman for Burroughs Printing in Wausau. After retirement, he spent several years in Florida before moving to Whitewater. In 1994, Mr. McCann moved to Rice Lake to be near his family. He enjoyed golfing and curling and was an avid trout fisherman.

He is survived by three daughters, Judy Cronk of Rice Lake, Kerry McCann of Cumberland and Mary Denolf of Woodruff; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; and a sister, Jean Gordon of Green Bay.
