Elias "Lou" Abohatab, 79, of Enfield, CT, entered into eternal rest Monday, May 24, 2004, at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, MA surrounded by his family.

He was the beloved husband of the late Alice (Kaidy) Abohatab, son of the late Lian and Helene (Massabni) Abohatab and stepson of his late step-mother, Rachida (Hawa) Abohatab. Lou is survived by his four daughters, Nancy J. Abohatab of Willimantic, Lisa E. Abohatab and her husband, James Schofield of Keene, NH, Janet M. Barone and her fiance, Stanley Snarski of Enfield, and Carol R. Abohatab and her companion, Murray Gusseck of Campbell, CA; five grandchildren, Sam and Ian Schofield, both of Keene, NH, Anthony Barone and his wife, Sandie, and Chad Barone and his wife, Jenifer, and Jordan Snarski, all of Enfield; and a great-grandson, Chad Jr. Besides his parents and wife he is predeceased by a sister, Claire M. Hoodes.

A memorial service in celebration of Lou's life will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 5, at the Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Rd., Enfield. His family will receive relatives and friends at noon for one hour prior to the memorial service at the Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels.
