Brenda was raised on a small farm north of Harper. She was baptized and an active member of the Chicaskia Baptist Church. During the past six months she attended the Cross Pointe Christian Church. She attended Grandview Grade School, Harper High School and Wichita State University, graduating with a degree in journalism.
After briefly working as a reporter at the Caldwell Messenger, Brenda worked as a telephone operator at SW Bell in Oklahoma City.
Brenda deeply loved her children, Brenna' and Brett. Her Aunt Ruth and friend Patty Mills helped her in innumerable ways. She also loved her many cats. Brenda was a very giving person.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, parents Floyd and Betty, infant sister, Uncle Leo Lechner and nephew Shane Cranford. Survivors are children Brenna' and Brett, sister Linda and husband Ty Cranford and family, Aunt Ruth Lechner and cousin Fred Lechner and family.
The family sincerely appreciates Stan Wedman, PA, Dr. Bellar and all those in the medical profession for their great care of Brenda over the years, as well as those friends who reached out to her.
Memorial graveside services were held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, October 20, 2011 at the Harper Cemetery with V. Bruce Smith officiating.
Memorials may be given in memory of Brenda to the Harper Hospital and can be sent in care of the funeral home.
