Beverly A. Ashcraft, 85, died in Klamath Falls, Ore., on Nov. 29, 2011.
Private cremation was held at Eternal Hills Crematory.
Beverly was born on July 23, 1926, in Sebastopol, Calif., to Leonard and Loretta Irish. Her father was a highway engineer so she grew up in Mineral, Calif.
Before graduating from Westwood High School, she met Gordon Ashcraft Jr. and they were married on June 10, 1944, in Reno, Nev. Since he worked for California Fish and Game, they moved in California, spending time in Fresno and Yreka. They retired in 1985 and moved to the Klamath Basin.
She enjoyed skiing and was the downhill champion at age 16 on Mt. Lassen, which she won for the Alturas Ski Club. She also enjoyed hunting and fishing with her husband. She was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking and quilting. She was a member of the Butte Valley Quilting Club.
Survivors include Gordon of Klamath Falls, her husband of 67 years; daughters and sons-in-law Karen and Merwin Logan of Springfield, Ore., Judy and Frank Amrein of Fresno, Calif., and Linda and Mel Walker of Blue Lake, Calif.; sons and daughters-in-law Dale and Loretta Ashcraft of Madera, Calif., Kit and Marilyn Ashcraft of Alabama; seven grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
