George Sorrell

George Boone Sorrell, 62, of Rte. 2, Shreveport, died Tuesday in Willis-Knighton Hospital after a long illness.

A native of Bossier City, he had lived in Shreveport-Bossier City area all of his life. He was vice president of Tri-State Produce Co. and was a member of Broadacres Baptist Church, the Masons and Mithra Grotto.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in the Marshall Street Chapel of Rose-Neath Funeral Home with the Rev. Don Fletcher, pastor of Broadacres Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Forest Park West Cemetery.

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. George B. Sorrell of Shreveport; two sons, Hubert C. Simpson of Irvine, Calif., and George M Sorrell of Houston, Tex.; a daughter, Louise Baker of Shreveport; a sister, Mrs. P.J. Baker of Shreveport, two brothers, Edward Lee Sorrell and J.M. Sorrell, both of Shreveport, seven grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be W.A. Minter, E.E. Bland Jr., Phil Frank, Orlee Marsalis, Vince Ross, and J.T. Pernici.
