Mary Thurman Allen first married Silas A. Stockard of Maury County, Tennessee. Their children were: Josephine, James and Silas (a daughter). Silas A. Stockard (her husband) died and in 1839 Mary married Thomas J. Matthews, sheriff and senator from Lawrence County, Tennessee. They had children: Elizabeth, Lauraey, Tennessee and Thomas J. (a daughter). Thomas J. Matthews (her husband) died in 1847. Mary married Jeffrey Murrell of Fayette County, Tennessee in 1852. She had a child by Murrell who was named Willie Murrell.
