Funeral services for Michael Sean Scoggin will be today at 3 p.m. at the South Campus of Indiana Baptist Church with Chris Hurt officiating. Burial will follow in the City of Lubbock Cemetery.

Sean Scoggin, of Irving, began his new life in Heaven on November 27, 2011 at the age of 34. He was born June 3, 1977 in Lubbock. He married his soul mate, Michelle Renee (Quisenberry) Scoggin on May 29, 1999 in Tahoka.

Sean is survived by his wife Michelle; son, Ryan Scoggin; daughters, Kirsten and Katie Scoggin; mother, Sharron Scoggin; father and step-mother, Ralph and Janice Langley; mother-in-law, Gail Quisenberry; father-in-law, Mike Quisenberry; brother, Peter Scoggin; sister, Melissa Funk; step-brother, Brett Anderson; four brothers-in-law; five sisters-in-law; and seventeen nieces and nephews.

A former Plainview resident was killed Sunday night in a traffic accident near Weatherford.

Sean Scoggin, 34, died after his pickup ran into the back of a semi-truck trailer that was stopped due to stalled traffic on Interstate 20.

Scoggin and his family were returning home to Irving after visiting his parents, Ralph and Janice Langley, in Plainview over the Thanksgiving weekend.

According to Ralph Langley, two of Scoggin's children were riding with their dad when the crash occurred. Ryan Scoggin, 11, suffered bruises and abrasions and likely will be released from Cook Children's Hospital in Fort Worth sometime Tuesday. His sister, Kirsten, 7, suffered more serious injuries and was in intensive care at the same hospital tonight after undergoing surgery to repair a broken pelvis and broken leg.

Sean was an organ donor.

Sean is the grandson of Patricia Ann "Pat" Lee Langley and Ralph Martin Langley.
