He was a Spanish teacher at Monroe Central High School. He received his B.A. from San Diego State University and had worked on his Masters from Muskingum University. He was pastor of Rehoboth the Well Fellowship; building rep. for SOEA, had his own band and was a member of the Handyman Club.
He loved music and played the trombone, he loved to travel, ministry, education, sports, aquarium, surfing, scuba-diving, tropical plants and fishing. He also loved his family, friends, co-workers and students.
Surviving are his wife, Carol Summers Parent of Woods-field; son, Mark (Rupali) Tetrick of Waldorf, Maryland; four daughters, Jennifer Parent of Vaasa, Finland, Katie Parent of Independence, Missouri, Sandra Tetrick of Mercer, Pa., Sherry (Donald) Decker of Hermitage, Pa.; a brother, Mike (Sherry) Parent of San Diego; sister, Patricia Grattan of Oceanside, Calif.; five grandchildren, Caleb Decker, Dawn Decker, Akshay Dewan, Rhiana Tetrick and Liam Parent.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved dog Sarah.
Friends will be received May 13 from 2-4 and 6 p.m. until time of funeral service at 8 p.m at Bauer-Turner Funeral Home, Woodsfield, with Pastor A.J. Larson of Galveston, Texas officiating.
Graveside services will be held May 14, at 11 a.m. at the Hillcrest Memorial Park in Hermitage, Pa., with full military honors.
