Robin Lynnette Abelsen, a resident of Troutdale, died on November 26, 2011 at home surrounded by family. She was 53 years of age.
Robin was born on March 12, 1958 in Seattle, Washington and was the daughter of Richard and Louise (Whiting) Dixson. She grew up in Springfield, Oregon where she graduated from Thurston High School. She later completed her Associate's Degree at Mt. Hood Community college and was currently in pursuit of her Bachelor's Degree.

On November 30, 1985, she married David O. Abelsen in Vancouver, Washington. They resided in Gresham for 20 years and moved to Troutdale in 2006.
Robin worked for Legacy Health Systems for nearly 12 years first in Finance and later in the Legal Department. She also worked for Well Med and finally, ADP where she worked as a senior contract negotiation Manager for 3 years.
Robin was sweet and caring with a take charge personality. She enjoyed fishing, camping and traveling to Alaska, New York and Palm Desert. One of her favorite places was Odell Lake where she went every year. She also had a passion for shoe shopping and the Oregon Ducks. She was a devoted wife and mother who loved to spend time with her family and friends. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Robin is survived by her husband, Dave of Troutdale, daughter, Becci Hull of Gresham, parents, Richard and Delores Dixson of Newport, brothers, Ted Cuthburt and Vince Cuthburt both of California and sisters, Sondra Pickett of Vancouver, Tami Maier of Eugene and Vivia Weller of Diamond Bar, California along with 6 grandchildren, Mikayla, Macenzi, Will, Macray, Stephanie and Isabelle.

A celebration of Robin's life will be on Thursday, December 1, 2011 at 11:00 am at Bateman Carroll Funeral Home in Gresham. Inurnment will follow at Willamette National Cemetery. Contributions may be made in memory of Robin to Shepherd's Door. Bateman Carroll Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
