HERMAN J. ARNOLD DIES AT HOME HERE
Herman J. Arnold passed away about noon today at his home on West Jackson Street after a long illness. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Arnold of Emmet township, moving to Macomb several years ago. He is survived by his wife, formerly Marie Koch, and four children. He was local manager of the Phillips 66 Oil Company. Funeral arrangements and obituary will appear later.

SERVICES FOR HERMAN ARNOLD TO BE THURSDAY
Funeral services fo Herman J. Arnold, 42, Macomb, agent of the Phillips Petroleum company, who passed away yesterday of about a year with complications, will be held at 9:00 o'clock Thursday morning at St. Paul's church in Macomb with the Rev. Michael Ryan officiating. Burial will be in St. Paul's cemetery.
Born June 2, 1893, at Galesburg, to Mr. and Mrs. John Arnold, both of whom survive. Mr. Arnold lived for a number of years in Emmet township before moving to Macomb in 1920 following a years service in the army at Kelly Field, Texas. On October 10, 1923, he married Miss Mary Koch, who with their four children survive.
Also survivng are two brothers, John Arnold, Jr. of Carthage and Louis Arnold of Emmet township, and three sisters, Mrs. John Kerrigan of Lincoln, Ill., Mrs. Alta Sullivan, of Emmet township, and Mrs. William Sullivan of Carthage. He was a lifelong member of St. Paul's Catholic church and was_____with the Knights of Columbus and with the American Legion.
