He was born March 30, 1906, in Carter County, KY., a son of the late Charles and Emma Nichols Ash. He was a deacon of the Freewill Baptist Church, Dameron, WV and a member of Boone Lodge No 162, AF & AM, Whitesville, WV and was a former miner.
He is survived by his wife, Pearl Rebecca Webb Ash; a son, the Rev Earl C Ash, of Fredericktown, Oh; three daughters, Mrs Marie Smith and Mrs Joann Milam of Arnett WV and Mrs Mary Belle Taylor of Mansfield, Oh; a brother, Herston Ash of Dry Creek WV; four sisters, Mrs Evelyn Scarbro, Masseyville, WV, Mrs Etta Pauley of Naoma WV, Mrs Lula Nichols of Coshockon, Oh, and Mrs Ethel Nesselroad of Baltimore, Md; and sixteen grandchildren. Interment was in the Miller Cemetery Rock Creek WV.
