Becky graduated magna cum laude from USC in 1970 earning a BA in international relations and history. She was Phi Beta Kappa and Phi Beta Phi.She was chosen for USC's summer program in Cambridge, England. She was awarded the Cabot Fellowship at the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy where she received her MA in 1971. She earned her doctorate at USC in British history in 1979 where she did her field research at Emmanuel College,Cambridge, England and Lambeth Palace Archives.She was an academic adviser at USC in the College of Letters, Arts, and Sciences, a long time adviser for the NROTC unit as well as a lecturer in British and modern history. She also taught ancient history and humanities at Cal State University Long Beach and Cal State University Los Angeles. She spent her early years in the US, Japan, and England. She was the daughter of Hammond and Julia Hilts Rolph. She died of cancer.
