AKA Lottie Lee, she was the mother of Newton T. Bass, entrepreneur and developer of Apple Valley, California. Her parents, Henry Spinsby and Mary McCaffrey Spinsby, owned and operated Spinsby's Railway Hotel, Montgomery City, Missouri, which gained the reputation as being the best railway hotel on the road along the line of the Wabash Railway through North Missouri in the late 1800's.
