U.S. Congressman. He graduated from Kenyon College, in 1926, from Yale Law School, in 1929; was admitted to the bar in 1930 and commenced the practice of law in Findlay, Ohio. He was prosecuting attorney of Hancock County, (1933-37) and a member of the Ohio State House of Representatives, (1937-47). In 1951, he was elected as a Republican to the Eighty-second Congress and to the next ten succeeding Congresses, serving until 1973. Not a candidate for reelection, he was a teacher at Findlay College, (1973-83) and a judge of the Findlay Municipal Court, (1981-89).
