ROTTON DIES, WAS LINCOLN ORAL SURGEORN
Dr. William I. Rotton, 84, a retired oral surgeon, who had practiced in Lincoln for 50 years, died Sunday.
Rotton, 2737 Royal Court, formerly was a member of the staffs of Lincoln General Hospital and University of Nebraska College of Dentistry.
In 1965, the Lincoln District Dental Association awarded him a life membership.
He was in the student Army Training Corps during World War 1, and served as a Navy Commander during World War 2.
Born in Essex, Iowa, Rotton was a 1922 graduated of the University of Iowa. He taught in the University of Iowa College of Dentistry for a year before interning in oral surgery at the University of Nebraska Medical Center.
He is survived by his wife, Norma; a son, Dr. William N. of New Hartford, New York, a daughter, Mrs. Edward (Jeanne) McConnnel of Williamsburg, Virginia; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Longtime Lincoln oral surgeon William I. Rotton died Sunday. He was 84.
Rotton, who practiced in Lincoln for 50 years, received his degree in dental surgery from the University of Iowa in 1922, then interned at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. At one time he was on staff at Lincoln General Hospital.
He ws a member of the Lincoln Dental Society and was honored by the Lincoln District Dental Association for his many years of services. He was a member of the First Plymouth Congregational Church in Lincoln.
Survivors include his wife, Norma, his son, Dr. William N. Rotton of New York, and his daughter, Mrs. Edward (Jeanne) McConnel of Virginia.
No service is scheduled. The family suggested memorials to the Lincoln Foundation.
