Ruth lived a long and happy life, it was until a few months leading up to her death the family found out she had a disease known as dementia.
She lived in the good care of Astoria Assisted Living Center in California, and she passed there in the warmth and comfort of her dreams. She was 82 years old.
She was born on May 25, 1929 to John and Hortense Gappmayer. She had two brothers, Ray (and is wife Martha), and Kenneth (and his wife Lena). She also had a sister Dorothy who passed away as an infant.
Ruth married the love of her life Max Diamond on July, 10 1947, and 43 years later they were sealed in the LDS Temple of Provo Utah on June 5, 1990. Before they were sealed in the temple they had three beautiful daughters, the oldest Diane (and her husband Wes) of Casper Wyoming, the next Shirley (and her husband Craig) of Santa Clarita, California, and the youngest Judy (and her husband Mike) of Fremont, Indiana.
Ruth had nine grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren, and one great, great grandchild. Ruth loved many things including bowling, and working on her yard.
She was a great seamstress and embroider. She and her husband loved to spend their free time outdoors and they went on many fishing trips together.
She will be remembered as a loving mother, a wonderful grandmother and a beautiful friend.
Funeral services for Ruth will be held Friday December 2, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the Sundberg- Olpin Mortuary, 495 South State Street, Orem, Utah.
A visitation will be held 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the funeral services.
Interment will be in the Orem City Cemetery.
