HYDE PARK /ENOSBURG FALLS – Carroll S. Cramton, Jr., 89, passed away on Tuesday morning, November 29, 2011 at Copley Hospital in Morrisville.

Carroll was born on December 27, 1921 in Boston, MA, the son of Carroll S. and Elsie E. (Ruth) Cramton, Sr. He was a 1939 graduate of Enosburg Falls High School. A US Army veteran of WWII, Carroll served from 1942-1946 in the European Campaign and with the Allied Occupation Forces in Germany. His marriage to Dorothy Tucker took place on June 8, 1981 in Rutland, VT. Dorothy passed away on February 3, 1989.

Carroll was employed at Diamond International Paper Co. in Palmer, MA, retiring in 1985. He was a 61 year member of American Legion Post # 42 in Enosburg Falls and VFW Post 9653 in Morrisville. In his earlier years, Carroll was involved with Little League baseball and enjoyed hunting, fishing, especially with his wife Dorothy, and going to camp in North Hero during the summer.

Carroll is survived by 2 sons, Bruce Cramton of Elizabethtown, NY and Jeffrey Cramton of Springfield, MA; a brother Mark Cramton and his wife Ruth Ann of Bristol, NH; grandchildren Ryan Cramton of Westfield, MA, Jaime Mora of Southwick, MA and LT Gregory Messier, USN and his wife Jessi of Waiphu, HI; great grandchildren, Aidan Mora and Arlen and Justin Messier; his daughter-in-law Constance Cramton of Westfield, MA; his first wife Leah R. Cramton of Springfield, MA and his dear lady friend Lucille Brooks of Morrisville.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 3, 2011 at 3:00 PM at the Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave. in Enosburg Falls with the Rev. Jon P. Bly, Pastor of the United Methodist Church of Enosburg Falls officiating. Interment will follow at Missisquoi Cemetery in Enosburg. Friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Saturday from 2:00 PM until the time of the funeral.
