He graduated from North Putnam High School. Walter had served in the Indiana National Guard. He was employed at Heidtman Steel.
He married Angie Belford on March 12, 1989 at Jamestown. She survives.
Also surviving are a son, Cody Boller, at home; his parents, both of Russellville; a brother, Rob Boller, Poland; a sister, Wendy Gaschl, Mullberry.
