STUARTS DRAFT - Mrs. Audrey "Doll" Williams, 99 died Christmas Day (Dec. 25, 1999).
She was born in Nelson County, Nov. 25, 1900, near Montebello and spent most of her adult life in Portsmouth, where she married and reared five children. She returned to her beloved mountains in 1972 and remained in Stuarts Draft.
Mrs. Williams is survived by two sons, Kenneth M. Williams of Suffolk and John W. Williams of Peachtree City, Ga.; three daughters, Mary Lou Herring of Fayetteville, N.C., Jacqueline W. Burnham of Diamond Bar, Calif., and Sandra Dawn Merzlak of Orlean; a sister, Virginia "Punk" Desantis of Warrenton; two nieces, Martha Black of Stuarts Draft and Betty Lou Carwell of Fairfield; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Vesuvius Baptist Church by the Rev. Judson Baldwin and Chaplain Patrick Herring. Burial will follow at Mount Paran Cemetery.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 8 p.m. at Reynolds Funeral Service in Stuarts Draft.
