MOORE, Okla. — Hellen Callaway, 47, died Dec. 2, 1995, at her home in Moore, Okla.
She was born March 6, 1948, at Hutchinson, the daughter of Herbert L. and Olive R. Buehler Herbel. She was a graduate of Lyons High School, attended the Universidad Ibero Americana, Mexico City, and was a 1970 graduate of Kansas State University. A Moore, Okla., resident since 1976, coming from Shawnee, Okla., she had taught Spanish at Moore High School since 1986.
She was a member of New Life United Methodist Church, Moore, Okla.
On Jan. 20, 1973, she married David Callaway at Oklahoma City. He survives.
Other survivors include: a son, Lael Callaway, of the home; a daughter, Erika Callaway, of the home; mother, Olive Herbel, Lyons; brother, Mike Herbel, Kansas City,
Kan.; and a sister, Susan Herbel Edwards, Washington, D.C.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at McFarlin Methodist Church, Norman, Okla., with the Revs. Scott Keneda and Bob Mash presiding. Graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Lyons Municipal Cemetery, Lyons, under the direction of Vondel L. Smith & Son Mortuary, Oklahoma City. Bishop Funeral Home, McAlester, Okla., is in charge of arrangments.
