Arnold Buerkle Killed in Car Accident Tuesday
Arnold Buerkle, 49, former resident of Gibbon, was killed late Tuesday night when his car went off the road and crashed into a driveway embankment. The accident happened about 3 1/2 miles south of Hector on TH No. 4. According to the report received here, Mr. Buerkle was killed instantly.
Arnold Buerkle was born in Moltke township Dec. 19, 1903, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Buerkle, Sr. He farmed here for several years and later operated a liquor store in Gibbon for a short time. He then bought a farm seven miles south of Hector on TH No. 4, and has operated that ever since.
Funeral services will be held from the Wellington Lutheran Church, Wellington Township, Friday afternoon, May 15. The body will be taken to the farm home Thursday evening.
He is survived by his wife, one daughter, Mrs. Ellard Borth, living on a farm northwest of Gibbon, and two sons, Jerry 11, and Curtis, 10, at home; one grandson, Allen Borth; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Buerkle, Sr., of Gibbon, and the following brothers and sisters, Herb and Arthur Buerkle of Gibbon; Henry Buerkle, Jr. of Milwaukee, Wis.; Mrs. Albert Glaeser and Mrs. Theo. Bruns of Gibbon, and Mrs. Wm. Boettcher of St. Paul.
