Funeral services for James William "Buddy" Evans were held at 2:00 PM Saturday at Brown-Holley Funeral Chapel in Oak Grove, LA with Bro. Dennis Kimball officiating. Interment followed in Oak Grove Cemetery in Oak Grove, LA.

James William Evans was born on September 21, 1926 in Oak Grove, LA and passed away on Thursday, March 24, 2011 at his home surrounded by his loving family and close friends.

Mr. Buddy Evans worked at the paper mill for sixteen years and then farmed until he retired.

He was preceded in death by an infant son, his parents, Sebun and Gertrude Evans, and two sisters, Lillian Singley, and E. L. Prince.

Survivors include his wife of sixty-four years, Artie Lee Evans of Oak Grove; daughter, Carolyn Ainsworth and husband, Larry of Oak Grove; two granddaughters, Christy Swain and husband, Charles of Amity, AR; and Ki Eaton and husband, Paul of West Monroe, LA; two great grandsons, Ryan Swain and Blake Swain both of Amity, AR; two great granddaughters, Bailey Eaton and Kamryn Eaton both of West Monroe, LA; three sisters, Doris Taylor and husband, Albert of Bastrop, LA; Francis Poe of Calhoun, LA; and Leatrice Aultman of Bastrop, LA; and many special nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Rick Moore, B. J. Moore, Glen Taylor, Buzz Sawyer, Ricky Sawyer, and Jim Sawyer.
