Obituary Of Walter Pritchard
Walter Amos Pritchard was the only son of William and Ellen (Baldwin) Pritchard of Elgin. He was born on July 18, 1898 near Elgin, and died December 30, 1987, at the Lutheran Hospital, LaCrosse, Wl.
He spent his early years on the family farm and attended country school near Elgin.
On June 30, 1928. he was united in marriage to Margaret Monnahan. From this union 12 children were born: Amos, Ilo Mae (Mrs. Charles Corbin), Leslie, Lyle, Richard, Alfred, Barbara, Marian (Mrs. Marvin VanSickle), Gary, Robert, Brad and Rodney.
They farmed in the community near Elgin, known as Brainard from 1946-1975.
In 1975 he retired from farming and moved to Farmersburg.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret, his 12 children, 52 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his only sister, Lela Seevell.
Funeral service was held Saturday, Jan. 2, 1988, 2 p.m. at Muehlethaler Funeral Home, Elgin. Officiating was Rev. Norm Miller and organist was Mrs. Sara Strong.
Lunch was served at First Baptist Church.
Casket bearers were Darryl Pritchard, Duane Pritchard, Michael VanSickle, Mark Pritchard, Ray Peterson, Lee Pritchard.
Interment was in Elgin Cemetery, Elgin.
Arrangements were by Muehlethaler Funeral Home, Elgin.
