W.E. (Emmet) Beene, 68, a worhty citizen of the Liberty community, just northeast of town, died at a local hospital last Saturday.
A native of Mississippi, born in 1969, a few miles east ot Teuelo, here he was reared and married, going to Oklahoma in 1900 and a little later moved near Royse City and bought the farm where he had lived for the past 18 years, in the Libeary community in 1919.
Emmet was a good citizen, a Christian man and had been a member of the Baptist Church since a young man, his membership being with the old Concord Church, at Jacobia, where funeral conducted Sunday.
He had been in failing health for more than three years but kept active where the less energetic would have given up.
Hunt county loses a worthy citizen in the death of Emmet Beene and, his family a devoted husband and father.
He is survived by his wife and the following children: Mrs. George Graham, Lee, Nick, Raymond, Eula, Wilma, and Addie Beene of Greenville Rfd. 1; Roy Beene, of Pecan Gap, and Mrs. Olvier Walden, of Greenville.
He is also survived by his father, J.S. Bene (Uncle Jake) Beene, who is 94 years old and by the following brothers and sisters: Erby Beene, Levelland; Mrs. D.V. McCaty, Kilgore; Mrs. Maggie Morris, Dallas; Mrs. Pearl Davis, Wylie; Mrs. J.J. Morris, Nevada, and mrs. Florence McCleary, Stephenville.
Several grand children also survive.
