WILLIAM S. COX, JR.

William Shell Cox, Jr. of 969 South Shem Drive, Mount Pleasant, an accountant with Darby Development Company, died Friday at his residence.

The funeral was at 10 a.m. Friday in Hibben United Methodist Church. Burial, directed by Stuhr's Mount Pleasant Chapel, was at 1 p.m. in the Old Johnsonville Cemetery.

Mr. Cox was born in Hemingway January 1,1927, a son of William S. Cox and Emmie Floyd Cox. He was a graduate of the University of South Carolina and was a US Navy veteran of the Korean conflict. He was a member of the Mount Pleasant Outboard Motor Club and the Hibben United Methodist Church.

Surviving are his wife, Barbara Davis Cox; 2 sons, William Shell Cox,III of Rock Hill, Regional D. Cox of Athens, Ga.; 1 daughter, Amy C. Barberio of Mount Pleasant; 8 sisters, Methlee C. Coodloe and Frances C. Phillips both of Charleston, Bliss C. Kelley, Martha C. Lucas and Juanita C. Grower, all of Columbia, Maggie C. Beaty of Rock Hill, Ruth C. Richardson of Hemingway and Joretta C. Sutton of Stone Mountain, Ga.; 2 brothers, Randolph S. Cox of Myrtle Beach and David W. Cox of Columbia; 2 grandchildren.
