Husband of Jean D Alexander

William G. "Bill" Alexander, 88, High Ridge, formerly of Gerald and Washington, passed away peacefully Monday, Nov. 2, 2015. Bill was born April 16, 1927, in St. Louis. He was the former owner of Alexander & Sons Funeral Home and Mount Lebanon Cemetery in St. Louis. He and his brother, Jim Alexander, were pioneers and an innovative force for funeral service in St. Louis. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, a 33rd degree Mason, a ceremonial cast member and a Shriner. Bill is survived by his children, William "Chip" (Sally) Alexander, High Ridge, Kim Alexander, Gallatin, Tenn., and Dana (George) Meyer, Washington; grandchildren, Nicole Alexander (James) Reiter, George William Meyer, Benjamin Joseph Meyer and Maximilian Alexander Meyer; one great-grandson, Mason Todd Reiter; one sister, Sally Alexander Higgenbotham; one brother, James Harvey Alexander; dear uncle, cousin and friend to many. He was preceded in death by his two wives, Jean Alexander, nee Dekker, and Gwendolyn Alexander, nee Bosley; his parents, Moses Harvey Alexander and wife Ruth, nee Stansbury; and one sister, Ruth "Teedee" Stubbs. A memorial Mass will be held Saturday, Nov. 21, at 9 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Church, High Ridge. Inurnment will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 21, at Boeuff Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Gerald. -
