Irene T. Baker, 73, went peacefully to be with her Lord early Sunday morning, October 19th, 2008. Irene was born in Guilford County on May 26, 1935 to Nellis and Ethel Farrington Tucker. She was the proud mother and grandmother of a large family.
A graveside service was held 11 o'clock Tuesday morning, October 21, 2008 at the Harris Family Cemetery in Youngsville with the Rev. Donald Warren and the Rev. Helen Champion officiating.
She is survived by her husband of over 50 wonderful, happy and blessed years, James Thomas Baker, Jr.;her children, James Thomas Baker III and wife, Darden, of Wake Forest, John Michael Baker and wife, Roxanne of Moore, SC, Randall Lamar Baker and wife, Cindy of Youngsville, Teresa Ann Miller and husband, Rick of Raleigh and Pamela Lynn Reeves and husband, Scott of Mauldin SC; grandchildren, Sarah Briley, Petty Officer 3rd Class Thomas Baker IV, Emily Baker, Waverly and Delainey Baker, Evan Baker, Richard Miller, Brian Miller, Mark Hollingsworth and Ashleigh Reeves; siblings; Hazel Stafford, Nancy Dillon, Bonnie Henderson, Louise Mabe and Ernest Tucker. She is predeceased by siblings, Glenda Tucker, Mary Farrington and Henry Tucker.
