Sybil was a lifelong resident of the Center Ridge vicinity in Montgomery County, Iowa. She was a member of the Center Ridge Presbyterian Church there. She was married at her family's home in Lincoln Twp, Montgomery County to James Henry Aiken on December 30, 1903.
She died at the Cottage Rest Home in Red Oak, IA after an extended illness. She was survived by her son, J. Harold Aiken of Red Oak; a daughter, Ione Aiken of Red Oak; and one granddaughter and four great grandchildren; and a brother, Clem Woods of Red Oak. Her funeral service was in Center Ridge Presbyterian Church, adjacent to the cemetery.
