Louis was ill for six weeks with inflammatory rheumatism that went to his heart, and died of it at the boarding house where he lived, owned my a Mrs. Williams. It was at 609 Locust St. in Atlantic, IA.
Louis was born to Henry and Amelia (Lipmer) Thiele.
He was one of the best known drivers and trainers of horses in his part of the state of Iowa.
His wife left him some years prior to his death. Their young son remained in his care. Beside his son, Louis was survived by three sisters: Mrs. Ernest Reichstein of Nebraska, Mrs. Amelia Miller of California, and Mrs. Mary Hoffman of Atlantic, and also a brother in Kentucky. He is buried beside his mother.
