He received the European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal and the World War II Victory Medal after serving in the U.S. Army with the 728th Railroad Battalion. He participated in Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland and Central Europe Campaigns.
He was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 8183, Housatonic, Mass. 728th R.O.B. Indianapolis, Ind. and the 2nd M.R.S. Chicago, Ill.
