Pastor Charles William Bradley, 55, resident of Hopewell Road, died Thursday, November 24, 2011 at Maury Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 3:00 p.m. at Hopewell Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church with Rev. Buddy Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in Hopewell Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 3:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home and Monday from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. at the church.

Born in Cochise County, Arizona, he was the son of the late Charles W. Bradley and Margaret Ruth Bechtel Bradley. He was a graduate of Norwood High School in Nappanee, Indiana and later graduated from the Culinary Arts Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York. He was employed as a gourmet chef at the Green Brier in White Sulfur Springs, West Virginia and and for a time as a bakery chef in Lansing, Michigan. Throughout his life he was an avid bicycler, swimmer and painter.

Pastor Bradley was a man who had a fervent desire to know God and know of God. As a result, he not only possessed a sincere love for God, he also lived his life with a deep love for his family and the family of God. He had a remarkable journey that resulted in Christian faith and that ultimately led him to a call into the ministry. After study, he was ordained in the Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church and has been the pastor of the Hopewell A.R.P. Church for the past twenty years and has also pastored the Union Grove Cumberland Presbyterian Church for many years. He loved theology, sought understanding of faith through the Reformed tradition and impacted many lives as he challenged those whose lives he touched to grow deeper into their faith in Christ Jesus. He was a member of the Tennessee-Alabama Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church and was presently serving as Stated Clerk of the organization and was on the Executive Board of the General Synod.

Survivors include his wife of thirty-six years, Sandra Fisher Bradley of Culleoka; daughter, Clair M. (Lance) Shroades of Fairbanks, Alaska; three sons, Brandon J.
