Lloyd M. Bowers, 91, formerly of Lafayette, father of Earl Bowers of Mulberry, died June 20 in the Peabody Memorial Home at North Manchester, where he had been a resident seven years.

Born in a log cabin south of Clarks Hill, he lived in Lafayette for 46 years before going to the Peabody home.

He was married in 1891 to Arcadia Parker, who died in 1949. Mr. Bowers was a carpenter-contractor and a member of the Brassie-Bowers electric company. He was a member of the Congress Street Methodist church, F. & A. M. lodge No. 123 and Hope chapter No. 5, O. E. S., Lafayette.

Also surviving are two other sons, Ralph Bowers and Lawrence Bowers, both of Lafayette, and a daughter, Mrs. Edith Elliott of Chicago.

Burial, with graveside services, was made in Plainview cemetery, near Colfax, Monday morning, following services in the Peabody Memorial Home chapel at North Manchester. The Rev. Jack Bowers of Pittsburgh, Pa., a grandson, officiated.
