Flora Merle Silas Sullivan, age 86, died Wednesday, November 23, 2011 at Woodlands Care Center. Mrs. Sullivan was born in DeFuniak Springs and lived there prior to moving to Gainesville 68 years ago. Mrs. Sullivan worked in retail sales and nursing until her retirement, and was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Gainesville. She was also a member of the AGH Auxiliary and the Red Hat Society. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Pearl Wise Silas, as well as a son, James W. Sullivan. She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Jesse Willard Sullivan of Gainesville; five sons, Harry H. Sullivan (Becky), Eddie L. Sullivan, and Bobby G. Sullivan, all of Gainesville; John Wayne Sullivan (Sue), of Mauston, WI, and David L. Sullivan (Judy), of Kinston, AL. She is also survived by two sisters, Johnnie Ownbey and Lyda Mae Silas; as well as fifteen grandchildren, thirty great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren.
