He was born in Campbell Hill in 1881, and lived in the Percy area about 35 years. He was a retired miner.
Lively was married in 1900 to the former Alma Bowlby, who survives. He also leaves a son, Howard of Waterloo; a daughter, Mrs. Wanda Waters of Percy; a sister, Mrs. Lizzie Ward of Willisville; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Percy, and a Sparta local of the United Mine Workers of America.
Friends may call at the Walker Funeral Home in Percy after 1 p.m. Sunday until services Monday at 2:30 p.m. at the First Baptist Church. The Rev. Joe Caldwell will officiate. Burial will be in the Ava Evergreen Cemetery.
