daughter of Albert & Etta (Rhode) Bichsel
Brooklyn Standard Union article:
"Mrs. Mabel Clifford, aged 17, the six months bride of E.J. Clifford, a clerk, of 163 Harmon Street, died last evening in the Bushwick Central Hospital of burns she received in her apartment Saturday afternoon. Mrs. Clifford went out Saturday to call on some friends, and on returning sat down by a stove to dry her shoes. An ember fell from the grate and ignited her stocking, and before she could put out the blaze, she was enveloped in flames. Her husband quickly wrapped her in a blanket, and Dr. Rochford was summoned. He had her removed to the hospital, where, after lingering several hours and suffering intense agony, she died".
