MONROE COUNTY, MICHIGAN


William, age 59, of Lone Mountain, formerly of Monroe, Mi., passed away in Claiborne County Hospital, Claiborne County, Tn. He was the son of Lonzo K. and Laura J. (Keaton) Baltrip. He came to Monroe in 1941 from Lone Mountain and married Elsie M. Stump on Feb 21, 1942, in Bowling Green, Ohio. They returned to Lone Mountain in June of 1977. William had been employed by Union Camp Corp., taking medical retirement in 1975. He was the father of William, Carl, Wayne, and Beverly; and was the brother of James, Roy, Glen, and Gladys; and grandfather of six. He was preceded in passing by his parents, a daughter, a son, and two brothers, including Boyd Lynn Baltrip, Sr.

William's grandson, Douglas Baltrip passed away on Nov. 17, 2011.

He had served with the Army during World War II from Dec., 1942, to Nov., 1945. William was a life member of Monroe Post 1138, Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Tazewell, Tenn. VFW post.
