John Levern Hodges, Sr. of Pensacola passed away Wednesday, January 5, 2005 at a local hospital. He was a native of Geneva, Alabama and moved to Pensacola in 1952.

He faithfully served his country and family. He was a veteran of World War II and received a Purple Heart and Bronze Star medal for his service.

He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Florence; son, John Hodges and wife Chandra; grandchildren, Garrett Hodges and Jenny Roberts and her husband Ben; great grandchildren, Luke and Isaac Roberts.

Services will be held 12:00 p.m., Saturday, January 8, 2004 at Bayview Fisher-Pou Chapel, 3351 Scenic Highway.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of John Levern Hodges, Sr. to Samaritans Purse Organization for the Tsunami Disaster Relief, PO Box 3000, Boone, NC 28607.

Bayview Fisher-Pou Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
