An obituary published in the Shelbyville Democrat on May 25, 1916 for Jesse W. Foor of Rose township, stated that he had died on Saturday [May 20, 1916]. Mr. Foor was born in Fairfield County, Ohio, June 20, 1845 and was married there to Miss Delilah Swander in 1862. Ten years later they came to Shelby County, settling in Cold Spring Township. Since that time they had made their home in Shelby County. Ten children were born to them. Of these, one son died in infancy and the surviving children were: Mrs. H. M. Tallman, Shelbyville, Mrs. Sadie Cullumber, Mrs. Lula Sibett, Ervin Foor, Calvin Foor, Fred Foor, Lawrence Foor, Clinton Foor and Wiley Foor, all living within a radius of eight miles of the home in the southwest part of Rose township. Also Mr. Foor was survived by one brother, Joseph Foor of Franklin County, Ohio, and six sisters. One of the sisters was Mrs. David Brownback of Tower hill and the other five were residents of Ohio. The funeral was held from the family home and burial in Glenwood Cemetery.
