John Thomas Lansford, 71, of Wortham, passed away on Wednesday, November 23, 2011, at Methodist Hospital in Dallas. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 26, at 3 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Wortham. Family visitation will be held on Friday evening from 6 p.m. to 8 at Porter Chapel in Wortham. Interment will follow at Wortham Cemetery.
Among survivors for Mr. Lansford is his wife, Judy. A complete obituary will be posted in Saturday's paper.

John Thomas Lansford, 71, of Wortham, passed away on November 23, 2011, at Methodist Hospital in Dallas. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, November 26, at 3 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church of Wortham, with the Rev. Harris Worcester, the Rev. Jay Lasher and Rev. Jay Fraze officiating. Interment will follow at Wortham Cemetery. Family visitation was held on Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the church.
John was born on November 20, 1940, in Navarro County to Thomas David and Gladys Lanell Lansford. He lived a life that will be remembered by all who knew and loved him. He loved his faith, family, friends, red Fords and food. His life was an example of loving his God, working hard, and being honest. He worked hard, but he also loved taking his family to Disney World and enjoyed his testimony of how God has blessed him in his life.
Mr. Lansford was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his wife, Judy Lansford, of Wortham; sons Tommy Lansford and wife Jody, of Flint, Todd Lansford, of Brazoria and Tracy Lansford and wife Jennifer, of Wortham; daughter Tammy McCord, of Kirven; sister Darlene Lansford, of Wortham; and grandchildren Raquel and husband B.J. Allen, Trevor Lansford and wife January, Levi, Destin, Jaden, Harlie, Ethan, Amy, Joshua, Brandon, Jordan, Kayla Lansford and Holden and Hannah McCord.
Serving as pallbearers are Mr. Lansford's grandsons.
