He married 27 November 1895, DeKalb Co., TN to Sarah Viola "Viola" MULLINAX, daughter of James MULLINAX and Arminta Caroline (or Catherine) FUSTON. They had three known daughters:

Last Thursday at 1 o'clock p.m. at the quiet home of Mr.and Mrs. James Mullinax, near Prosperity, his beautiful daughter, Miss Viola, was married to Mr. Joe Odom, a son of James H. Odom, living near Auburn. Rev. J. T. Oakley officiating. The attendants were Prof. Clemmons and Miss Willie Grooms and Mr. Dillion and Miss Ethel Odom.
