Last rites for Charlie Alexander Achenbach, 64, were held February 6 at the Sheets and Son funeral home with the Rev. Eugene Miller officiating. Burial was in Shawver cemetery at Cedar Bluff.
Mr. Achenbach died at his farm home near Mechanicsville February 3, following a heart attack. The son of Alexander and Mary Schutt Achenbach, he was born December 31, 1901 at Cedar Bluff and was educated in the rural Cedar county schools. He was married to Nellie Mason at Cedar Rapids February 29, 1928.
He had farmed near Mechanicsville since 1941.
